Welcome!

I'm Amy André, a writer and an educator/ advocate focusing on LGBT and bi community* issues. I have a master's degree in sexuality studies, and, as a Point Foundation Scholar at the Haas School of Business at University of California - Berkeley, I earned an MBA, with emphases in marketing and nonprofit management.

Newest Publication: Visible: A Femmethology, an anthology of writing about femmes, includes an essay I co-authored with my friend Sand Chang! Get a copy here and let me know what you think.

In my spare time, I'm a film afficionada and recently directed a documentary titled On My Skin, about a mixed-race transgender man and his family. You can bring the film to your event by clicking here.

Action Zone: I'm taking action to spread the word about bisexual health and LGBT lives. Check out my press page for links to related articles. And, for you journalists out there, please contact me if you would like to set up an interview -- I'm happy to help you with your story!

Spotlight On: BiNet USA, Community HIV/ AIDS Mobilization Project, National Black Justice Coalition, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, The Point Foundation

*LGBT stands for "lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender." Fifty percent of the LGB (sexual identity minority) population in the US identifies as bisexual; and, as I write in the book Bisexual Health, bisexuals have many of the same issues as others in the LGBT community -- and many unique ones as well. For this reason, I use the phrase "LGBT and bi community" in my work.
