I
am currently pursuing an MBA at Haas
School of Business at the University
of California - Berkeley, where my studies focus on nonprofit
management. Here is information about my academic history:
Master
of the Arts, Human Sexuality Studies, 2004
San
Francisco State University's Human Sexuality Studies department
provides students with an interdisciplinary approach to the field
of sexuality. For my master's thesis, I interviewed women who
have had sexual relationships with male and female partners, and
who identify as lesbian, bisexual, and straight. In asking the
women about the ways they understand their sexual identities vis
a vis their sexual experiences, I was able to learn more about
women's sexuality.
Bachelor
of the Arts, Psychology,
1997
New
College of the University of South Florida (now New College
of Florida), is the honors college for the state. Featuring an
alternative educational structure, New College allowed me the
opportunity to develop my own program of study, in which I focused
on psychology, sociology, and sexuality studies. At New College,
my undergraduate thesis used a social psychological approach to
the examination of the stigmas associated with HIV/AIDS and cancer,
in correlation with sexual orientation.
