I really like the AfterEllen website, because its writers are very conscious of the portrayal (or lack thereof) of bisexual women in the media. Other sites that say they’re all about lesbian and bi women usually fail to mention bisexuals past their taglines. I was especially pleased when AfterEllen posted its year-end review, analyzing LB […]

As a Jew who was born on the first night of Hanukah, I’m happy that my Jewish birthday is right around the corner. Tomorrow, I’ll be enjoying the best of the season with my family on the East Coast, in the company of this lovely woman.
This journal will be back next week…

I’ve been getting such positive feedback about “Bisexual Cowboys in Love“, my Brokeback Mountain article! I’m all smiles.
A Canadian friend sent me this link. Our neighbors to the north are getting it right.
Perusing Livejournal brought me into awareness of the Magic cone, which may be of interest to women and transmen alike.
Finally, I finished my […]

I just got published again!
After I saw Brokeback Mountain (see 12/8 journal entry), I got to wondering: why was everyone and their mother calling it a gay movie? It looked like a bisexual flick to me. I sat down and wrote about that, then submitted the article to American Sexuality magazine, a very fabulous […]

I’ve mentioned the Fairy Butch shows before, and I’ll mention them again. Fairy Butch is a local entertainer and sex educator who hosts a variety show once or twice a month at a hot little club in San Francisco’s Mission District. If you’ve never been to one, and you’re in the city tomorrow night, consider […]

Forwarded to me from a friend, this message scared the *crap* out of me. Be forewarned.
Conversation or a nice rack?
This is one of those items that makes Broadsheet incredibly frustrated — because we didn’t write it first, we can’t reprint it in its entirety, and because as funny as it is, it’s not at all […]

Not really. You don’t have to be a black Jew; you can be anything you want. What I would like to be is not what others assume me to be, but seen, just once in a while, for who I actually am. Case in point: yesterday, I went to a gift shop to buy some […]

Here are a few more reasons to love Tristan Taormino, sex educator, writer, and general glamor girl. (She’s the one in the middle in this photo. Her recent e-newlsetter just informed me of these happenings, which include a fascinating research project and calls for submissions!)

There’s a fascinating little survey here. This weekend I saw Aeon Flux, and loved the lovely Charlize Theron, of course. Strong, hot, brilliant. From Monster to North Country to this — she never gets tired. The Jewish femme movie night during this past weekend was also a hit. And later on this week, I’ll be […]

Apropos of nothing, (other than both being Jewish femmes ourselves) a friend and I decided to get together this weekend for a movie night; the theme is “Jewish Femmes.” So, among other films, we will be watching — if I can help it –my favorite bisexual Jewish femme movie ever, Kissing Jessica Stein. Some might […]
