Leeway Announces Support for Trans Artists

For you East Coast artists: “The Leeway Foundation has announced an unprecedented funding program for trans (’transgender, transexual and genderqueer’) artists creating work in art and social change.The Pennsylvania funder announced, ‘As a historically women’s foundation created to support artists who are underrepresented and under-funded in society because of their gender, Leeway now sees the inclusion of trans artists … as integral to our work.’ Leeway funds artists in the Delware Valley, now including Camden County, N.J. Categories include the short-term Art & Change Grant ($2,500; next deadline June 12, 2006) and the Tranformation Award ($15,000; next deadline April 10). Applicant support sessions are every two months.”
