University of Sydney (USyd) Visiting Research Fellowships & International PhD Scholarships
-
You may have seen the advertisement in yesterday’s Australian HES for the next round of *USyd visiting research fellowships*. Full details are available at: http://www.usyd.edu.au/research/fellowships/visiting.shtml
These fellowships are offered to postdoctoral researchers of high standing at any stage in their career to share and disseminate new and original ideas and/or techniques, initiate and undertake collaborative research and facilitate interaction and training of our staff and students. Visiting fellows are expected to make a substantial contribution to the academic life of the University. We have changed the guidelines this round to particularly encourage early career researchers, as well as considering the track record of the host USyd researcher in the selection criteria. Up to 20 fellowships are available for visits of between 2-12 weeks in the period Aug 2006-Aug 2007.
*Closing date* for full applications to the* Research Office is 26 May 2006*. Applicants must contact the *Head of the host Dept/School prior to 5 May 2006*.
The new USyd International research scholarships (USIRS) were also advertised this week for new PhD/Research Masters students commencing in semester 2, 2006. Full details available at: http://www.usyd.edu.au/fstudent/postgrad/costs/inm/scholarships#usi
In this initial round we are offering 15 new scholarships on a one-off basis. It is hoped that this number will increase and become recurrent in 2007. *Applications close on 28 March to the International Office.*
