Happy Loving Day!

June 12th, 2006

every day is a good day for Loving!Today we celebrate the legalization of interracial marriage in the U.S. Check out LovingDay.org!

And, on that note, for you mixed-race/ mixed-heritage actors out there in the San Francisco area, here’s an announcement from Swirl, a national organization for folks like us:

Swirlies,

FUSE, a multimedia play featuring the works of the alloy project, is looking for actors to play mixed heritage roles. Please feel free to pass this along to anyone you think might be interested. For more information, check out www.thealloyproject.com

the alloy project is now holding auditions for FUSE, a multimedia play that will be featured in this year’s San Francisco Fringe Festival.

We need four men and three women in their twenties/thirties. Actors’ race/cultural background are unimportant, but they should be able to play biracial/multiracial characters ( i.e. - black/white female, asian/white male, latino/asian female, etc.)

Auditions will be held June 17 and 18. Please call Jennifer at (415) 420-6932 or email jennifer@thealloyproject.com for the location and to schedule an appointment. Please bring a photo, resume, prepared monologue, and schedule to check for conflicts. Rehearsal will begin in early August.

Performance dates are Thursday, September 7 10:00 PM; Saturday, September 9 4:00 PM; Tuesday, September 12 8:30 PM, Saturday, September 16 7:00 PM. The play will be performed at the Exit Theater.
