Folsom Volunteer Opportunity
August 31st, 2006
From my friend Lisabeth at the Lesbian Health & Research Center:
Wanna raise some $$ for LGBTQ Health?
Lesbian Health & Research Center @ UCSF has been selected once again as a beneficiary of Folsom Street Events. We need 50 amazing volunteers to set up, greet guests, help with booths, etc. A portion of the funds raised on that day will be granted to LH&RC to support our work, researching and advocating for the health of our communities.
Your volunteer shift will equal a $300 gift to LH&RC!! :
Pitch in at the best leather fair in the world and raise funds for LBTQ health all at the same time!
When? Sunday, September 24 2006. Shifts are available throughout the day. This is a one-day commitment, preceded by one volunteer orientation meeting.
Where’s it at? San Francisco’s South of Market district, by Folsom and 9th
What will I do? There are many different roles to fill, including set-up, gate greeters, first aid booth, and more. Volunteers will work shifts that vary in length from 4 to 5 hours.
What’s in it for me? Perks for volunteers include: meals, refreshments & snacks, access to shade (VIP volunteer indoor area), coat check, access to bathrooms at the fair without lines, and our eternal gratitude!
How do I sign-up? Email Lisa.Castro-Smyth@ucsf.edu or call 415-502-5209. Once you sign up as a volunteer, Lisabeth will be in touch to find out which shift you’d prefer.
