Call for Student Intern in the San Francisco Area

January 18th, 2007

AltCinema Productions, a local lesbian-owned independent film production and distribution company, is looking for an intern for the Spring semester! (See www.altcinema.com for details about the company.) AltCinema focuses on distributing films made by/ about women, people of color, bisexual people, and transgender people. An intern is needed to assist with acquisitions, screenings, and distribution of AltCinema films, which screen at an international array of film festivals and universities.

Duties include:
* researching new films and film festivals online
* preparing distribution copies
* event planning
* other administrative tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:
* some familiarity with LGBT film festivals
* online research experience
* event planning skills
* experience using Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:
* previous experience planning film events (please describe in cover letter)
* previous involvement in film-making and/or distribution (please describe)

Academic Credit: This internship is worth credits, the number of which are up to your professor and/or university department.
Time commitment: four to eight hours per week.
